So it seems to be a youtube issue, maybe if you reload the site it will come up better. Or go directly to youtube and search for Hudsucker part 7. I didn't put the clip on youtube, all I did was embed it here, and that's the limit of my technical knowledge on how to embed youtube clips on my site.mark kennedyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11953166248647413142noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23438334.post-77699263411031352792009-07-12T08:17:25.295-07:002009-07-12T08:17:25.295-07:00Adore the film, too. Fresh off the bus from Muncie, college sticker on the briefcase, all full of hope and enthusiasm. At the jobs window, the reality of the world washes over him - previous experience required. All the other jobseekers at the window seem to find a job, until just Norville is left jobless and downhearted. I personally love the Coen brothers stylization in their films. It seems natural to me because the stylization is consistent through the story, characters, dialogue and direction. Thanks again for your thoughtful analysis Mark!jhandnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23438334.post-9604108591104293282009-07-08T06:24:29.500-07:002009-07-08T06:24:29.500-07:00Hey Ock - Yeah, definitely underrated. Thanks for the comment!

Jeremy - That's a good point - I love Amelie too and I hadn't thought of that - it's a good example of a stylized film that manages to be emotional.mark kennedyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11953166248647413142noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23438334.post-22152117302941303622009-07-08T05:36:02.972-07:002009-07-08T05:36:02.972-07:00I have a real soft spot Hudsucker and for Brazil e...I have a real soft spot Hudsucker and for Brazil even though Hudsucker left me a bit cold for the reasons you mentioned. You're right, you can't deny the brilliant direction and the main theme is fantastic. For stylized filmmaking, I'd have to side more with Jean Pierre Jeunet for Amelie because the emotional center. Though I guess the Coen brothers enjoy not giving the audience quite what they want.
